Native language ski race celebrates its 25th year

The 25th annual Sonot Kkaazoot (from the Koyukon Athabascan word Sonot Kk'oo'eelzoot, meaning 'sliding around  in early spring') ski race will take place March 24, 2012. Both 50km and 20km options are available.

To my knowledge this remains the only ski race in Alaska which has an Athabascan name. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Online registration is available through March 20th.
