The inaugural
Troth Yeddha’ Run for the Park 5k run drew more
than one hundred participants on a warm autumnal equinox today. The run followed a hilly loop course through the UAF
campus, beginning and ending at
Troth Yeddha’ Park. The run brings awareness to
the new park, located in the green space between the UAF Museum of the North
and the Reichardt Building. The Park will be designed to celebrate the Native
cultures of Alaska, particularly the Athabascans of the Interior, and recognize
that UAF is located on traditional Athabascan land. The run also featured a new Troth Yeddha' T-shirt design from
Nomadic Stars. Shirts may still be available; contact
UAF CRCD for more information.
